Price Value Quality I ordered: Dark brown leather double-pouch, size M/L
This was my first Happy Cow purchase. I was looking for something that could keep my hands free while walking my dogs, without looking like the dreaded Disney tourist fanny pack. I'm really glad that I found Happy Cow! And I really like the added bonus of the reused materials.
I chose this product because it looked like it could hold more than any of the other models. I wanted to be able to carry water bottles in the pouches. I ordered the double-pouch version, since I figured I would need balance for the heavy items I'd be carrying.
I am a female, and I wear a pant size 8. I ordered the M/L because that was the only way to get the double pouch, plus I wasn't sure that the small would be big enough. I wear it on the tightest setting, and it sits very low on my hips. Occasionally, I have to adjust it slightly to keep it from falling off. I'm sure that the small would have fit much better.
Improvements that could be made: Offer double-pouch version in smaller sizes. Provide loop for tucking excess belt material. Find some way to loop through the belt loops in my shorts. Offer a model that has a dedicated water bottle pouch (maybe 1 on each side).
This looks great with a skirt. Aesthetically, I'd love to see it in dark brown suede, if the suede would be as durable.
I was initially hoping for a lower price, but it seems fair for the quality, material, and work involved.
Happy Cow, I'd love to see you make your marketing materials a little more edgy and a little less hippie. And market to dog walkers too! (Posted on 8/07/10) -

Quality Price Value I absolutely adore my Happy Cow Utility Belt. I have the double pouch model in black. It's just big enough to keep my hands free, yet also deliciously stylish. I wear it on set as a Production Coordinator in the entertainment industry, and it never fails to attract attention. Value Quality Price I have problems with carrying a bag on my shoulder. This solves the problem. The zippered pockets and front pockets allow me to organize and keep things where I can find them. 1. Less Pressure on the Environment - by only using recycled leather, we do not contribute to the demand for mass-breeding of farm animals. The United Nations website states that the mass-breeding of livestock is one of the major contributors to global warming.
2. No Unnecessary Suffering - By using what would otherwise be thrown away, we are able to avoid the unnecessary suffering of animals for the sake of human comfort. Animals are made to suffer too often for very superfluous reasons. Just because animals cannot be heard, doesn't mean they do not have the right to a peaceful life.
3. Cost Savings - By using recycled leather we are able to purchase our raw materials at a much cheaper price than if we were purchasing it directly from the tannery. Where else can you get fashionable, handmade, genuine leather items for less than $100?
