The Green Messenger is all class. Beautiful old looking leather trimmings, rustic gold fixtures and a dark green canvas give this bag that classy vintage look that is so hard to find in a new bag.
However this bag is far more than just good looks. With its array of cleverly placed pockets it is also extremely practical. On the back of the bag is a zip pocket, intend for those things that you use regularly throughout your day (such as your mobile phone, wallet, keys, etc). The main pouch is secured with two buckles as well as a zip so you know your valuables are fully secure – even when your running late.
Inside the softly-lined main pocket is another zip pocket intended for those small belongings you want to keep secure and separate from the other items in your bag (ie: passport, cash, jewellery, etc). On the other side of the main pocket is two small slip pockets. Perfect for storing keys and other items that would otherwise get lost amongst all the items inside.
We wanted this bag to be fully sustainable. So we only used vegetable tanned leather and organic cotton to make the bag. Yet a bag can hardly be called environmentally friendly if it doesn’t last the test of time. So we build this bag to last forever. The shoulder strap, leather buckle straps and handle are all reinforced with studs. The bottom of the bag is leather to ensure less dirt and damage ruin your new favourite bag. We used heavy-duty zips on all the pockets and reinforced the underside of the strap to ensure it doesn’t wear out easily.
The adjustable shoulder strap and carry handle ensure the bag is comfortable to have with you all day long.

This satchel is a replacement for my Crumpler briefcase which I’ve had for 5 years and used daily. Including many trips abroad as my only piece of luggage. So far so good. I’ve been told the Happy Cow looks better. It’s effete enough for a client boardroom. Rugged enough that it doesn’t look out of place on a dusty building site. One gripe though – having to unbuckle the straps to get access to the main compartment. I guess the leather straps will soften in time though. Like an old school bag

Ordered 4 of these for Christmas gifts. Sturdy, well-made, and very vintage looking. The leather straps are tight as a brand new item, but once they’re used a bit, they’ll soften up. Great bag!

Very durable, perfect size and quality vintage feel with its thick leather base, handle and straps. Great to throw over the shoulder or carry in your hand. Happy cow, happy shopper.
