We are an environmentally conscious company and we are experience rapid growth. These two factors left me in quite a pickle recently when we upgraded the design for a number of our shoulder bags and still had surplus stock of the original design.

There is nothing wrong with these items, they are simply version 1 and we are now up to version 2. The main difference is that version 1 has the stitching visible around the outside of the bags whilst version 2 has the stitching inside. I personally prefer the design of the stitching outside, gives it more of a 'vintage' and handmade feel.

We are offering version 1 bags to our customers at heavily discounted prices, sometimes even at half price!! The money raised from the sale of the version 1 bags will go towards purchasing more recycled leather to make our new bags that are currently in the final steps of the design stage.

It has been a number of weeks since my last post. This is mainly because things have been so busy as Happy Cow whilst we prepare for the holiday season.

This year we want to do a bit more marketing for Christmas than we have in the past. We really are looking to inform more people of what we have on offer without being pushy or spammy or disruptive.

Our Holiday plan has 3 major elements:

1) Flyers informing people about available gifts to be sent out with orders

2) Promotional discount/gift sent to past customers

3) New products promoted through social media and newsletter in October.

We have some flyers which will be distributed from next week onwards with orders placed through our website (see below for most recent draft copy).

We are also trying something a little outside the box this year. We had the idea to send a short letter out to those who have purchased from us last year but have not been back since. Really it is the people who have supported us from the beginning who are 100% the reason we are where we are today. We are working on a way to give thanks to them, perhaps in the form of discount on christmas purchases or free gifts. Will post an update once we have some feedback on the success on this promotion.

We also have many new and exciting products. Some of which will be listed initially as prototypes on the You Vote, We Make page and others which will become available for purchase in October. Sneak previews of the products available in October will be listed on this blog and on the Happy Cow Facebook Page in the coming days.

Happy Cow has been growing rapidly and we felt the time had come to upgrade to fancy, full colour boxes (as oppose to the one colour boxes in use presently). We are pleased (and excited) to present to you the first glance at our new Happy Cow packaging boxes that are in the final stages of design. The inspiration for the boxes came from cows and their everyday environment. We wanted to provide exciting, colourful boxes that also fit with the Happy Cow concept.
